Hip Hop Festiwal 2023

When Brand Identity Comes to Life on Stage
Most festivals create a visual identity that exists only in their promotional materials.
A poster.
Social media graphics.
A teaser video.
Then the event begins, and that visual world disappears.
For Hip Hop Festival Wrocław 2023, we took a different approach.
The festival’s main character didn’t stop existing once the poster was finished.
That was where its story really began.

From Poster to Stage
The central element of the festival’s branding was a distinctive gorilla wearing headphones.
Rather than creating an entirely new visual concept for the live show, we transformed this character into the centrepiece of the LED content.
Our goal wasn’t simply to produce attractive animations.
We wanted to create a seamless connection between the festival’s promotional identity and the live audience experience.
Visitors weren’t just watching graphics.
They were stepping inside the visual world they had already seen online.
Designing a Character With Attitude
The gorilla wasn’t meant to be a static illustration.
It needed personality.
Movement.
Presence.
Every animation was designed to reflect the energy of hip-hop culture while reinforcing the festival’s visual identity.
To amplify that feeling, we created dynamic particle simulations using Notch VFX.
Large clouds of smoke erupted behind the character while debris and fragments burst towards the audience, creating the illusion that the stage itself was breaking apart.
These effects weren’t added simply because they looked impressive.
Every particle, every explosion and every movement was carefully timed to enhance the music and increase the energy between performances.
Turning the LED Screen Into Scenery
In projects like this, the LED screen becomes much more than a display.
It becomes part of the stage design.
Well-designed visual content can dramatically increase the perceived scale of a stage, add depth and immerse the audience inside a coherent visual environment.
That’s why composition, colour palette and perspective played such an important role throughout the creative process.
Every scene was designed with the real viewing distance, screen proportions and stage architecture in mind.
Consistency Creates Recognition
One of the project’s biggest objectives was maintaining complete consistency between the festival’s branding and the visuals shown during the live performances.
Instead of presenting unrelated animations between artists, every visual element belonged to the same creative universe.
That consistency strengthens recognition.
More importantly, it creates memorable moments that audiences associate directly with the event itself.

Festival Branding
Great stage visuals don’t begin on the LED screen.
They begin with the event’s identity.
Our role was not simply to animate a character.
It was to bring the festival’s visual identity to life and transform it into an experience shared by thousands of people standing in front of the stage.
